Central States Dahlia Society (CSDS) is a group of dedicated and knowledgeable gardeners who focus on promoting the culture of dahlias.

"We are basically crazy about dahlias."
During the Winter, early Spring and Fall (January thru November), CSDS members meet regularly at the Elk Grove Village Public Library, 1001 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007. Meetings are usually held on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 1 pm.

During a normal Summer growing season, CSDS fills its calendar with a multitude of activities including the CSDS Annual Dahlia Plant and Tuber Sale, garden walks, tours, excursions, an annual picnic, and annual Awards Banquet. The main event of the year, (drum roll please), is the CSDS Annual Dahlia Show and Competition. For 2021, we have modified our normal schedule of events. We are looking forward to a grand show event in 2021, however activities up until that time will be decided out of concern for the health of our members and visitors.
Our 2020 dahlia propagation program at Friendship Park Conservatory was a huge success! We were able to provide a fine assortment of rooted cuttings and potted tubers for our online Spring Plant Sale. For 2021 we are planning a repeat of the online sale. We are more experienced, so this year's sale promises to be even better. Please check this website for updated information on our 2021 sale.

Please see the Calendar of Events page.
